ASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH VENTURE KJ

It was full of excitement and anticipation that we joined Kyle Goetsch and Jon Kerrin on a beautiful fruit farm in the Cederberg mountains for an Astro Photography Workshop and we learned so much under their guidance. In a warm atmosphere of friendship and fun, they guided us patiently and generously imparted their knowledge in the field, punctuating this by a welcome coffee lashed with Amarula to keep the creative juices flowing well into the night.

Their expertise in post processing was invaluable and their wizardry in the kitchen adding a caring and delicious touch to their workshop.

Still basking in the memory of those wonderful days I am discovering more gems in my first collection of Astro photographs as I process my files.

Full of admiration for their work, I urge you to visit their website, join them on one of their many workshops and follow them on INSTAGRAM for a regular dose of inspiration.

SPECTACULAR DISPLAY OF FLOWERS

It is September, it is Spring, it is flower season!

Spending a day exploring the magnificent expanse of flowers in Postberg is always a treat.

Situated in the West Coast National Park, it is the perfect escape in nature and fills us with delight. The variety of multi-coloured flowers stretches as far as one can see and creates the most beautiful impressionist landscape with the ocean as a backdrop.

This inspired me to take a few multiple exposures in camera to accentuate the profusion of flowers and enjoy the riot of colours.

There I was again, painting with my camera!

A WEEK IN BETTY’s BAY

It was mid-winter. We really had everything weather wise. From the first morning in dense fog which the sun never pierced, giving the rocky coast an ominous atmosphere and a look of a scene straight out of The Lord of the Ring, to a raging storm and furious winds followed by beautiful calm, cloudy sunrises and tranquil walks through the dunes of Silver Sands Beach where the river was running strongly after the heavy rain. The colour of the light on the water, different every day, was mesmerizing while the patterns and textures of the rocks and sand captivated our imagination for hours at a time.

A special treat for which we thank Cheryl and Gert Kirsten again so much. We so appreciated exploring the area from your beautiful house and get to know it better. There sure is a wide variety of things to discover right down to the delicious sour dough bread of Lemon and Lime in Pringle Bay.
