MY DAUGHTER'S ROSE GARDEN

Last winter, Colette and Gregory Hinds moved in a spacious mansion with young Harry and their 2 dogs. It took no time for the family to settle in, make friends and relax in their new comfortable environment enjoying the space, the wonderful garden and the views beyond.

It is known in the area as the "ROSE HOUSE" and when Spring and sunshine returned it did not take long for the garden to reveal it's true splendor.

When we arrived for a visit last Sunday Colette appeared at the top of the stairs as if floating in a dream of flowers saying "I feel as if I live in a bunch of roses". It is an astonishing sight and we admired the carefully planned layout of textures and colours forming the background of their new life.
I tried to do it justice with my Huwawey phone and capture the image in my mind that Colette had just painted to celebrate this graceful elegance.

DUINEPOS

At the end of August, I spent 3 days at Duinepos situated in the West Coast National Park. We scheduled our trip with the flower season of Postberg but somehow spent more time exploring the beaches I had never visited before. As expected, in the early morning, the West Coast mist enveloped the shore in many shades of blues and greys. The rocks were still glistening from the rain, the lichens luminescent while dramatic light surfed on the waves. The day warmed up, the flowers opened and clear views of the Langebaan Lagoon were the backdrop of our pick nick. At the hides for sunset, the strong colours reflecting on the water were ideal for a little abstract rendition of the scene.
