At the end of August, I spent 3
days at Duinepos situated in the West Coast National Park. We scheduled our
trip with the flower season of Postberg but
somehow spent more time exploring the beaches I had never visited before. As
expected, in the early morning, the West Coast mist enveloped the shore in many
shades of blues and greys. The rocks were still glistening from the rain, the
lichens luminescent while dramatic light surfed on the waves. The day warmed up,
the flowers opened and clear views of the Langebaan Lagoon were the backdrop of
our pick nick. At the hides for sunset, the strong colours reflecting on the
water were ideal for a little abstract rendition of the scene.
